lonnieaftermidnight While everyone else was mimicking The Sisters Of Mission .. these goths seemed to channel Bauhaus more. Including bravely only a few cover tunes and incredibly creative songs like “Red” .. many great energetic driving ones and then, Roma on drums looking a bit Siouxsie ta boot! :) I’m not doing them justice in this little comment .. have a listen. If you like really great Goth music, you dig this!

Corpus Delicti created beautiful haunting grooves. The band started in 1992 and broke up in 1997. Five years, four studio albums and two compilations on Cleopatra.
2020 is the year of reunion !
Firts, the band is back on stage to give a second life to these cult albums.

I like the subtle way in which the tracks connect to the album cover, making this resting maiden the center point — calm in the midst of storm. (Just my interpretation maybe but the cover gives extra depth to the music... a softer undertone). The image reminds me of ‘Annunciation’ by Dante G. Rossetti used in ‘Adrenaline’ music video. ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ puts me at peace with big disappointments — a bittersweet musical potion. nicabreeze
